The last bad accident in 2006 was apparently caused by the rider waving at people on a bridge and then failing to see that the riders in front had slowed. Now that is just a lack of common sense.

So is it really that bad then? I wasnt able to go this year, although i actually live in Harwich, so got to see a lot of bikes as I was heading out of town in the car.
Was thinking maybe do it next year, but just looks too busy. Lee |

It's fine if you don't leave from Dunton - do what I did and join on somewhere on the A12 after a couple of hundred bikes have gone past - they are still reasonably spaced out and you don't have to queue when you get to Harwich and you get parked near the event (pay on arrival)

I did it for the first time this year, and i'm quite a nervous rider with any group larger than 3, but i didn't find it too bad. There were a couple of idiots, but we arrived at the starting line late so most of the 5000 bikes were ahead of us.
It was a really nice atmosphere |
