Is there any difference in quality bewtween discs from different regions?
I know that in the past videos bought from the US and played in the UK were poorer quality due to the differences between the PAL & NTFS formats and was wondering if a similar difference exists on blu-rays. I'm thinking of buying from amazon USA as the film I want doens't have all the extended bits that the US version does. Anyone heard anything? |

As far as I know, the different standards of HDTV i.e. 720i/p and 1080i/p are the same no matter which country your are in - the old NTSC/PAL were different signal types altogether.
The discs will very likely be region coded though, so check your blu-ray player can play the disc you are buying... |

American versions are usually wider than Europeans...

Read this and the sub articles: http://hometheater.about.com/od/tele...cpalframes.htm
BluRay is a standard like NTSC and PAL are. There is no difference between them across the world as far as I know. |
