Zsv650 Agree with you
Matt if you can stick with 'family accommodation' for a bit longer maybe find a better, job /career (if that's what you want) in the process and sit out the recession I think it'd see you better. You seem to com eover for all the best rides anyway you don't miss much - honestly!

Honestly, that job will be one you leave in 3-6 months. They are all the same. They pay a very low basic and the rest, you have to make up in commission from sales. You'll be sat at a desk, probably with a few other people, in an office full of people with a headset on and a computer making your calls. You jus have to sit and wait for an answer, read a ales script and hope that of the 200 calls you make in a day, you get some sales.
Now, it's good as a way to earn a bit of money to get you by in hard times, but the staff turnover is stupendously high for jobs like this. If you wanted and were able to stick at it long enough to do teh management programme, you may get something out of it, but it's a mindnumbingly boring and thankless existence. I'd be inclined to stay where you are until maybe next summer. The VAT rate goes back to normal in the New Year and that will affect things again for a couple of months, so I say, best to wait until the job market is truly back on track and you don't have to compete with so many people for each job. |

Intresting, thanks for the input peoples.
I think i will hold then as there really isn't much else for me alot down too insurance until i'm 21, career wise over here is 21. I suppose those alot of people my age start uni now finish 21-22 or w/e and will be just starting "proper" jobs when i can. Just got itchy feet i guess, don't get me wrong i earn good good wage for an 18 year old with essentially no quals. I think i'll just save some monies, wait a while see how the market goes. p.s. bad news for your davenumbers, i will be over alot more next year ![]() |

Become a CAD technician. They get paid loads once they have experience enough to go free lance. It requires no qualifications higher than GCSEs, and most places will send you on a day release scheme. Most trainee positions will only pay about £10k for the first year though.
Living on your own at this age will be hard. I'm 20 and still living at home and think I will be for the foreseable future. |

![]() As for what you said, some questions.... -What is a CAD Technician? -Whats the job involve? -How much generally does pay rise after year 1? (10k isn't near my current earnings. I would struggle to have 1 night out drinking a week, let alone my usual 6). -I have 2 D's in Maths and English (i think). -Whats a day release Scheme? Cheers Taz just some fillins mate sorry :P |
