I thought the only official Suzuki red for a pointy was YHH, but I'd be interested to hear otherwise because I have a tail section in a metallic red of a slightly different shade to the solid colour YHH, but I thought it was that way because it had been sprayed.

Not sure what you mean by "Aren't they the same fitting". They're the same size and shape etc but they are different colours. I have a K6 (flat red) and want a K5 (metallic red). I have the code if anyone needs it to check.

Edit: @-Ralph- There are definately at least two official Suzuki reds for pointys. I think the K5 is YU7 but that's from memory. I can confirm if necessary. Your tail section mis-match sounds much like my fairing mis-match. They are close in colour and unless you look close it is easy to miss the difference.

Now that's interesting. I never knew that. Yes please, can I have the code for the metallic?

Yeah I have it at home. I 'think' it's YU7 but don't quote me on that yet.

Ah..right..I just assumed they only did one red. Surely a respray would only be around £50-75 notes?

Indeed it does, I bought the tail section on ebay, thinking that there was only one colour red. I'm no longer bothered 'cos this happened in November, courtesy of a treacherous road, a barbed wire fence and a field.

and then after I got it all fixed up except a couple of small dents in the tank and a broken mudguard, I low sided it on the way on to the GMII, so now I'm left with gravel rash on the edge of the new nose as well. So my nose, my tank, my front mudguard all need attention and one of my tail sections is the wrong colour. If I decide to fix it all it'll be a full respray in a new colour.

By the way, these are the prices for various parts from a Suzuki dealer, a new nose cone would be £171 +VAT, not cheap, but still not as expensive as some folk seem to think. I fixed mine up via ebay, but just in case there was something I couldn't get (and I've still never seen a red front mudguard at a reasonable price, I got the necessary quotes (all +VAT)

Stock Code. Stock Description Code Unit Price
94401-17G00-YHH COWLING, BODY (RED) 171.180
56500-16G10 MIRROR ASSY, REAR VIEW 40.180
45501-16G21-YHH COVER SET SEAT TAIL 66.150
53111-16G10-YHH FENDER FRONT (RED) 71.450
