hey i just upgraded my ps3 so i stuck the old 80gb hdd in a sata enclosure and it's not showing on my computer anybody have any idea's what the problem is getting peed off with it now might go for a ride to chill a bit.

Assuming it's spinning up, my initial hunch would be that PS3 formats their drives in a file system standard that's not recognised by your OS.
Might need to reformat the drive from a boot disk. Hang fire before you try that for more enlightened responses, I'm not familiar with PS3s. |

yeah it would be in fat32 format from my ps3 but the drive's not even showing on my computer to put it into ntfs i don't understand what the problem is.

What OS on the PC, doe sit show in 'my computer' or (if vista/win7) then go start>control panel>sytem>admin>create and format hard drive partitions see if it shows up there, if it does then it may well just need 'mounting' and formatting. If not then I dont know, sorry

it wouldnt show at all on the downstair's xp computer tried it on my vista though and swissknifed it into ntfs and it's fine and dandy now which lead's me to believe it's not compatible with xp which is strange.

if you wanna use it on your comp use ntfs, right click on my comp & select manage-show in there?

when it does show (may need to 'add new hardware wizard') remember to format as ntfs to save frustration

yeah i've formatted to ntfs tbh it's only my ps3 that i've seen use fat32 so make's sense to make it ntfs.
