Default Big book idea

I have a small big idea which could be really really fun.

I would guess that there are some creative types both young and old on this forum that might like to participate.

Basically
I would go out and buy a big thick sketchbook.
Say around 200 pages or so.
It would then be sent between members of the Org.
Each member of the Org would then have a page to his or her own.
They should then fill it with anything creative that they like.

Just one page each... no more - no less.
Creative means arty stuff. Drawings, paintings, photos, poems, stories, graphics, comics, graffiti etc etc. The list of possibilies goes on.

Nothing vulgar or horribly rude. Lets assume anyones Nanna could read it and not be offended. Nudes i guess could be OK, if tasteful etc. Obviously rules like this would really have to be sorted properly if there was any interest.

I got the idea from a link someone sent me. 4 artists, 36 weeks, one book. Passed around, with loads of mixed media.

So my questions are.

Does anyone want to participate?

Im not sure how big the Book would be, but big ish. remember you wouldn't need to be able to draw or anything to take part. Any contribution would be golden.

Best regards to those who reply!

Speak soon, Ben.

(I'm into Photography and people. I am currently studying a 'Media Foundation' Course at the Arts University College Bournemouth.)

PS

I guess the finished piece (which could take years?) might be taken anywhere. I dont have any other plans for it, its still an idea.

it would have to be an A3 sketchbook, decent paper, and I'll need to have a free page before and after mine to allow for pencil smudges....Oh sorry am I being awkward?

Sounds a lovely idea, but how can you guarantee people will be honest enough to a) send it and not keep it for themselves and b) not lose it or c) auction it on ebay (people will ebay anything after all)? I know benefit of doubt is key here but don't forget at the end of the day we are all internetsurfers, we could all be VERY dodgy folk!...Ok that's not going to wash, everyone knows we are, who am I kidding, start the BOOK!

I am not an artist, I don't even play a musical instrument, but I love how words flow together to make a picture of an event. I would be honoured to contribute a page of my words if that was acceptable. It would not be something I have already written because I have other plans for that, but a unique piece for your project.

My partner Carol is a photographer, she is currently compiling a portfolio of her works and I am sure that she would love to contribute a few photos.

With this book, you would be happy for us to stick something in, sort of scrap book style, but original content by ourselves?

I would be intrigued and would love to take part. I too have noticed that the org seems to be a place populated by a variety of talented folk. What would you do with the finished article once every page was filled? Please feel free to message me if you would like to discuss any of this further with me.

Blessed be oh talented Org, hugs.

Thought you were on about a book as in a bookmakers book there, could be a laugh.

Odds on who's most likely to crash next, what sort of crash it will be, who is going to make the biggest tit of themselves at the next meet etc etc.

I have no idea really what i would do with it when or if it was returned/finished! Mayba a gallery or something would be interested...Ride or Bike could do a feature! lol, who knows.

Benefit of the doubt would play a major role I am sure. I think one of the rules would have to be something like 100 posts or more or something to contribute..? Size would be A4. And Panoramic pages could be ADDED maybe to pop or pull out. You would have only your own page.

I think it would be a really great collection of 'society's' work. Even if that selection of society was sort of limited to motorcyclists!

Words and text count. As long as another being can pick the book up and read through it enjoying the honest creation of someone else. I really hope this has more interest.

Ben.
