Just saw this aswell - I am very impressed. Ben Spies impressed me in WSBK with his methodic approach to understanding the dynamics of the motorcycle he was riding. This was even better demonstrated at his wild-card ride at valencia.

Top 4 are as expected...and now there is a potential 5th. I will be rooting on Spies this season, I think he will be upsetting a few people and will be elevated to "alien" status (Copyright 2009, Toby Moody!) with Rossi, Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Stoner.

Ditching Toseland is working out nicely.

Spies could be a very surprising spectator sport this year...certainly Yamaha have found a replacement for Edwards.

I doubt the aliens have much to worry about but he could be up there...and that would be great.

Ooh I can't wait!

I ain't saying nutin but let's not give him nutin yet.

Toseland did very well at first.

But the potential is there...we can't praise Spies until he is on the case.

But it will be good tv...5th place behind the aliens and well ahead of the 250 graduates would be an outstanding achievement...first year.
