Default ZX10 shock fitting problem.

I'm not 100% sure if this has been fully covered . . I've checked the charts before and bought a ZX-10R shock but I can't remember the year. However when putting it on the bike this weekend I found the spring was fouling the swingarm . . dilemma . . I'm not sure if this is because I uprated the dogbones to give a more aggressive position before? Does anyone have any ideas and any recommendations for shocks given this information?

I'm on an 02 SV650 S with modified dogbones and I weight about 13-14 stone when riding with full gear . .

Hope someone can help and thanks in advance

Ant.!

It's possible, post a pic of the shock?

Damn. I just bought an 04-05 zx10r shock and i have longer dog bones. Guess who cut up the OEM dog bones to make an exhaust mounting brackets!

Well after a bit of investigation I've found it's a ZX-6R shock off an 04 model . . here's a pic . . it's the one with the red spring.

Looks like same one I had, fairly sure that was the 05-06 C1 model and the 03-04 B1H model was silver.

I had no issues with that shock except for it being too short and a little soft in rebound.

The shock I have definitely doesn't want to fit . . it was bolted in while the big was on it's abba but once you drop that out you can feel the springs hitting the swing arm .. the shock looks similar to the one above but has a little adjuster on the side of the reservoir. Does anyone know which other shocks may have the springs with a thinner width similar to the SV shock? The SRAD shock looks like it is?

In what way have you modified your dog bones? Is the seat height higher or lower?

If I have my verniers at home i'll give you the measurements of my shock tonight.

An adjuster on the reservoir? As in under that big silver cap?

If so and it looks like a tyre valve do not touch it, it is 200psi nitrogen behind there.

Thanks Taipan, I've put shorter dogbones on to raise the rear

And Chris it sits on the side of the reservoir . . don't worry, no intention of playing with it
