as above how much can they take, got one and seen the weight sticker is saying max 2kgs but want to use it to carry tent that's 7kgs

Loads more. Have had the rentec racked up to the eyeballs....even a ten kilo tent with sleeping bags on top.

Timely thread. Just considering buying a Rentec but wondered if it was up for the job of holding a 45l top box with clothes and shoes in. Looks like it will then!

Just be aware that they do flex a lot, by that I mean I use my grab rail a lot for man handling the SV around, if the racks on I don't..as it flexes.
Shouldn't put you off though, they're as tough as ![]()

you can lift the bike up with it, be it may flex a bit!

cool cheers just fitted it to the bike and put the tent on to try it all out then tent is got to be about 8kg and didnt really move the rack, im hoping to put the tent the sleeping backs and sleeping beds on the rack itself

Actually my subframe is cracked from loading all manner of crap on the rack!
But you can safely ignore the 2kg thing. I do not think they are beefy enough for a topbox though, IMO you want one of those racks with the bottom brace to mount to the pillion peg bolts.
