Very "meh" bikes, they are pretty quick, pretty good handling if you get the ones with cartridge forks (I think 2001 is before this though), but they don't have "it". The handlings too neutral, the engine too smooth and anodyne to be a fun bike.
They do everything very well but I wouldn't have one.

i have heard the same thing, they are a bit too good at what they do, so it actually makes them a bit boring.
i have heard people say the same thing for the 600rr. |

I kinda need to know the 'thing' to look out for as the one im buying has 50k on the clock... Im not worried about mileage as I oinly do small mileage. My sv I had for a year and put just 2k on it. I only potter around.
But is this 'thing' something that occurs after many miles or just something that can happen at any point..? Cheers |

the cct (cam chain tensioner) can go at anything from 12k it rattles a bit like you have keys on a keychain on your bike at about 4k ish. so listen for it and its a bargining tool. thing is nothing really goes wrong with them afaik
