Default lowering with dog bones (so lower front too?)

Hey all, I am selling my trusty SV.

The current interested party is a girl at work who is 4' 11".

I have said I will lower it for her (she buys some longer dog bones). Will I have to lower the front to match? and if so, do I just slide the forks up the yokes the same amount as the dog bones drop the rear or is it more involved than that?

Thanks

Richie K

yes lower the front as well to keep weight bias and riding position the same. bring the forks up through the yokes, but watch out for suspension clearance

Ive not done it but I recall dropping the front more than about 12mm can lead to clearence issues.

1) Basically yes.
2) If the girl is that small you will probably find lowering with the"dog bones" is not enough. They only actually lower the seat a small amount. The reduction they quote is at the back of the bike. May have to have the seat sulptured out as well. I lowered a curvy with a custom rear shock and dropped the forks through the yokes by 20mm could have gone to 25mm. You have to move the horn to the side of the bike to stop it smashing into the mudguard. ( I still have the shock and shortened side stand in the garage).
