Default Seriously considering getting a ZZR1400.

Hi,

I'm seriuosly considering trading in the B1H for an 06 ZZR1400, need to test one first though

It's also cheaper to insure than my ZX6.

Anyone own one? what is tyre life like, fuel consumption etc etc?

try Pming Pegasus, he has one, big hector that's for sure, apart from a look round one I know very little about them, I did have a go on the older zzr 1200 but never tried the 1400.

Cheers Mark.

Lucky man, the only big Jap bike that floats my boat and a probable next bike for me too. If Kawa had them on their 0% deal I would be looking seriously this year. Sadly its every other model.

The only negative points I have seen is warped front discs....but thats not exactly uncommon on any bike is it?

My only other worry, certainly with the pre 2008 bikes is the flat response/lacking in bottom end grunt. Dumping the secondary butterflies and a PCIII seems to be common and results in big gains. If you are jumping off a 636 it might not be a problem.

Fuel seems to be like any big bore bike and depends how you use the throttle whether it likes a "sociable drink" or "bingeing". Same with tyre wear and chain and sprockets. It has a proper sized petrol tank on it tho' so you can really do distance.

A black 07 would be my pick as the primer and baby blue 2006 don't do it for me. Very keen prices for either.

Post up your thoughts if you get a test ride.....

Super, didnt you say you didnt like the Sprint ST be because it got boring? Id have thought a zzr1400 would be even more that end of the scale, well with a bit more poke, cant imagine a zzr going round corners as well as a sprint and that is really where the fun is imo.

I would like something fun and comfy, I want to tour on it and something a little less revvy.
