Seeing as I've managed to sneek into your area unnoticed - spending a week in Saundersfoot - via that extremely boring (but quick) bit of tarmac known as the M4 I'm hoping that someone can suggest a 'nicer' route for me when I come to leave on Thurs / Fri.
I'm hoping to ride home via Gloucester (or similar) anything that gives me some nice 'A' & 'B' roads before having to take the M25. Any suggestions would be very welcome especially if they are around the 300 mile mark (Saundersfoot to Southend-on-Sea, Essex). I wouldn't turn down a route that offers more - but I can only claim around 600 miles on expenses. Cheers ![]()

A477 out of saundersfoot -A40camarthen-through to Abergaveny then onto monmouth onto oxford (after that on own m40 m25 or ayslbury m25 i suppose )
bit from camarthen to Aber goes up over the beacons and pulls in some of the AR route but it will be about 7 hrs as opposed to 4.5 10-15 miles shorter Watch the roads down here the summer is when the council decide to use traffic as road rollers and lob loads of chippings out onto sticky black stuff ( and the unmarked coppers are nasty and quick in dyfed powys ) |
