Default srad linear fork springs. Where from and what dimensions?

I am having a nightmare trying to get some. No one does a direct fitment. They are asking what lengths and diameters I want. None of the options are for tapered springs so which diameter do I go for. Maxton are useless and either dont answer, dont return your call or you cant speak to who you need to when you do get someone! Maybe I am not loaded enough? The originals 40mm o/d at the top and 35mm o/d at bottom by 267mm long (probably were 270 new). I have options of 36mm and 38mm o/d's all way down length but dont know if they will sit right in bottom or under collar. Any ideas or experiences?

Will they fit in seats at bottom properly as the originals are only 35/36mm ish?

Yes it doesn't matter that the bottoms are not smaller, they will still sit flat on the top of the cartridge.

Originals are smaller at top for spacer to fit in.

Spacer doesn't fit inside on SRAD 600, it is just a washer followed by steel tube... rather than having plastic spacer thingy like the 750 ones.

So I need 38mm's? I could have sworn small end of spring was at bottom. Could they have been built wrong during a service in past? KAIS at manchester can supply 38's in 260mm or 280mm (originals are 270mm). Would 280mm work or would 260mm be better with spacer. Another alternative is brook racing of bradford who can supply 38mm by 270mm but only in a 9.5 rate. The lad at brook racing used to race an srad 600 and he thought 9.5 would be ok for my weight and bike still having lights on etc. (I am a bit heavier than I thought Chris, nearer 13stone without riding kit). Depends on what you are doing to cartridges also, what do you reckon? Also where do you get your silko pro rsf 5 from?

Ok just checked, 38 od is fine, straight is fine, no taper needed.

Free length of stock is just under 270 with 100mm spacer. Get the 280 then you can use your stock spacers trimmed down a bit.
