iphone/ipad/ipod touch - app idea?

Hi there,

This might be one for the moderators or Admin to look at first, but I just had an idea (doesn't happen often, go with it!)..... still thinking about it as I type so forgive any repeating etc!

I use my ipod touch a lot for browsing the internet, including this site. It's really handy just to see if there's any updates to subscribed threads or PM's etc. Does anyone know if it has been looked into to create an app for this site? I don't know how to do it or I would offer, but I think some things could be made easier for iphone/ipod users this way - the ebay app is a great example and I prefer it now to the actual site!

Text can appear very small (I know I can zoom on the ipod), but the layout doesn't lend itself too well for the screen size. Push notifications could be added for things like responses to threads and PM's, where the iphone/ipod will beep in your pocket immediately a response is added. This worked well for a world cup app I used during the summer for goals scored etc.

I may be on my own here, but I'd gladly pay a couple of quid for this kind of app, and I know some people make a small fortune from this kind of work. If someone from the .org could get this done free then any money made after Apple take their slice could be put to good use as donations to the site.

I've probably missed a few other ideas that could be added, what do you all think?
