I thought this thread was about you getting your oats for the first time.
Misleading thread title..... If nobody replies by the time I get home I'll check out my Haynes and let you know. Last edited by WeegieBlue; 10-09-10 at 03:31 PM. |

Oil change (some just do the oil)
and a general check over making sure all the bots and stuff are tight etc etc. Shouldnt cost more than about £30 or there abouts. You shouldnt have to pay for labour |

Yeah so did I, but was quoted £100 . They just seem to mess about so much at York Suzuki.

well apparently the oil used in brand new engines has a lower viscosity i.e. it's not as oil and lubricating at regular full fat slippy oil - this is to allow the piston rings to bed into the cylinder walls without the engine seizing. If you just put the blue top stuff in straight away then the rings might not bed thus the engine might not acheive proper compression for the rest of its working life...
Hope some of that makes sense lol ![]() edit: so if it's £45 that's prolly a bottle of oil (£30) and a filter (think they're usually about £ ![]()

The 1st service is basically the same as the 4k. You should have a breakdown of whats done/checked in your owners handbook if they gave you one.
