Default Corrosion protection.

After revising acf50 the other day and thinking about geting an atomiser gun to do bikes with i came accross this little test.

Does look like a lot of the corrosion on the ACF50 one had run down from the handle area. The blade itself looked ok to me. Maybe poor application at the handle interface?

That Tectyl wax stuff did a very good job mind!

Well, based on best value for money, I'll be giving my bike a light buttering for the winter. Should make it quicker too, and better for filtering.

And there was me thinking of asking my dad to see if he could grab me some ACF50 from the stockroom next time he's in work

ACF50 is ( a bit ) cheaper from Busters at the moment.

Ha, ha, ACF50 beaten by butter and vaseline! Pity they didn't use FS365, would have solved a lot of old arguments on here!

Anybody want to try the same test in their garden using ACF50 and FS365? I'd do it myself but I don't own a can of ACF50 and don't intend to buy any. Leave the ACF50 one all winter, and wash the FS365 once a day and re-apply. Oh, you'll need to spray a solution of road salt and puddle water at them once a day too.

Surely the whole idea of an anti corrosion product is you don't have to wash your bike every day?

My bike has some of the same ACF50 left on it from about 2007 and the finish is fine under all the crap
