I currently have a KBC VR1-X but im looking at upgrading to a shoei, however im unsure which shoei to get.
Im looking at either the Qwest or XR1100, I know the Qwest is a touring helmet with very low noise levels but im a little confused at what the differance is with the xr1100 being a sports touring? Could someone please explain the differance between the 2 and also which one would you buy (and why?) Many thanks |

Whichever ( not exclusively Shoei ) is most comfortable.
The slightest niggle becomes a pneumatic drill after a couple of hundred miles.

I have the Qwest and it is amazing. Very comfy, super quiet, pinlock insert included and the vents give a nice air con feel when open without massive noise levels.

I've got a Raid II, but I will be very seriously looking at the Qwest when I can afford one!

I have XR1000 and would have another one, it is a bit louder than some but can't complain. I love the vents when the weather is warm or on track.

+1 on the new Qwest. Tried it on in the shop, super light and really comfy. Excellent for the price too.

Qwest looks good, I must say. Watching some of the US youtube reviews, it seems the venting in the 1100 and Qwest has been improved, and the Qwest is oriented for more upright riding position so suited to tourers, that's the idea anyway. Looks a pretty good price point too.

The Qwest is good, very comfy quiet great visibility and not a bad price. The vents work much better and they are quietish when open. Better than the Raid I just wore out. Only Gripe so far is the pinlock won't seal, it's a very wide visor which probably doesn't help, another fiddle required...
