Default sv shift lights, where to set them ?

where do you think i should set them ?

at the moment the first is at 9500rpm and the last is at 10,000rpm

I think you should set them for fuel economy and for environmental reasons....around the 2000rpm mark.

Surely it would make more sense to set it at where your bike makes it peak BHP. IIRC the power on the SV falls away after 8000 - 9000rpm, certainly felt that way to me when I had mine. Theres no point revving it all the way till the rev limiter cuts in, its not making anymore power there and you argue that with the limiter coming in like it does, you are loosing foward momentum at that point.

Good advice.

Once you get over about 9000 rpm the power starts to tail off.

I'd set it around 8,750 as peak will be around there

my limiter is at 13k (one of them strange k3's)

and my bike pulls up to 9.5k so thinking along those lines will leav the first shift light at 9.5 and up the other to 11k to show where the red line is as i cant tell at the moment.

on a stock bike yes, but with mine the way it is now, its about 9.5k where it seems to drops off

i really need to get a dyno run done and then set it dont i, hmm might get it done before i get my new rear tire
