on my way to work this morning i've come off the dream machine.
![]() approaching a corner and a van appears from behind a land rover parked very close to the corner. wet road, with leaves and then i find some oil mixed in as well when picking the bike up. back end locked up (ok, that can and was being dealt with) and then the front went. bike took a fairly hard impact on the side and front end. damage was/is: front brake lever snapped - sorted right footpeg snapped - sorted snapped right indicator - sorted snapped left mirror (feck knows how!! ![]() smashed up front mudguard - needed bent crash bung and what looks to me to be a bent right fork - have a spare pair now the begging part... can anyone please help me out and sell me a front mudguard and/or a left hand mirror? as is fairly well known i'm pretty 5hite with a spanner in my hand, would anyone be able to come and pay me a visit with a front end stand to help me fix/put in another fork? i hate to say it, but i'm desperate as the bike is my only form of motorised transport and it being off the road is a nigthmare. any help is hugely appreciated and i assure you i can make a blinding cup of tea or coffee ![]() let the pi55 tasking comence...

Who am I to take the pi$$ when I'm back into hospital tomorrow for another elbow related op - at least you're in one piece.
But as you need your bike to get to work tomorrow do you want me to bring my SV round as I have the day off work? You can borrow it until you go away. I'll even change the midget seat for a proper one so you don't go to Thailand with testic1es squashed so far into your body that you could arrive in Bangkok as a ladyboy.

I do hope you got up and kicked the bike as though it was all the bike's fault. (Which may be how you broke the left mirror.)
I'm just looking at a pile of ironing, washing, hoovering and other chores. Bringing my bike to Watford would be an excellent excuse to not do any of it and after today it'll fall to Mr LPH as no one can expect a woman in a sling to do housework can they? ![]() Just let me know before the tube strike starts or I'll never get home again.

There is a corner on my way to work that's dodgy at the best of times. At the moment it's plastered in wet leaves too. I tiptoed around it bolt upright this morning. So I can sympathise.
At least you're mostly OK even if the bike is a bit bent. Unfortunately, I've lent my SV to one of my mates and haven't got any useful bits in my garage. So I'm not much help I'm afraid. Hope you're back on the road soon, Keith. P.S. Plonker!! Last edited by keith_d; 02-11-10 at 03:08 PM. |
