Ok, just been looking at this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Suzuki-SV-1000...item3a61a7b3de
I had to sell my bike a couple of months ago and was hoping to be in a position to buy something better in the spring, but the demands of 3 kids are too great and thats not gonna happen so its over to plan B - buy something cheap and spend a bit of cash as and when it becomes available. So what d'ya reckon? Is the mileage too high to make it worth it? Ball park figure to get up and running? My knowledge is limited but im keen, have an empty garage to work in and not afraid to get my hands dirty. Is it worth making the guy an offer, and if so how much? Would really appreciate your honest opinions, thanks, KJ x |

reckon you'd get away with spending under 200 on getting that in decent nick-i'd leave the tank as is for the moment and get a tank cover, 50-80 for rear sub,50-60 for right can, 10 for lever and same for indi-i'd sand , fill and spray grab rail myself and leave the rest.
mileage is high end but if your planning to keep not a problem. if i wasn't looking to be getting another landy i'd be tempted to go for that myself. h. Last edited by husky03; 23-12-10 at 07:06 PM. |

I agree, few pounds would make it acceptable. Just don't expect anything back on the resale value.

Thats what I thought, just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing anything obvious.
Whatever I get will have to last a few years so may be worth making an offer. Thanks Dave |

I'd also offer a bit below that too (cash if you can) see if there's any flexibility in the price, it looks like it's from a dealer they probably will have only paid a few hundred for it -they might be open to a bit less for a fast turn around.

Note also that it doesn't come with logbook, so you would have to apply for one and mot it.
Doesn't look too bad though, see another cat c sv1000 on ebay for nearly double that, albeit a k6 with nearly half the mileage.

Will the bent rear subframe not fail an MOT if it is visible to the tester? The damage is certainly more than just cosmetic, but certainly not difficult to sort out.
