An Idle Biker mishap

So last night I was lucky enough to go to a meal with a couple of hundred others that was organised by the QPR Care in Community Trust. (QPR are my footie team – no slagging off allowed).

Anyway the event was a charity meal where you could meet the ex players. So apologies to the non footies fans but the likes of Terry Venables, Stan Bowles, Frank McLintock, Gerry Francis, Neil Warnock, Martin Allen and so on…. These guys were my footie heroes and there I was having dinner with them.

As usual in these Charity events you have auctions, everything from autographed Footballs to Holidays in Marbella. There’s loads of cash being splashed about and the free wine and Champagne helps loosen the wallets. Footballs are going for £500, signed framed pictures for a thousand etc

As the auction is going I’m having a bid or two and then ducking out once the price has got too high……….and then I find myself bidding for a holiday for two, all expenses paid week in Marbella. Well I thought if the pictures are going for a grand then this holiday is going to go for at least 3 grand, so to be frank I’m giving it large pushing the bidding along past £1500 waiting to duck out…I then bid £1800 for the holiday expecting someone to outbid me and then………nothing, no other bids “Going once”, …..come on I thought someone bid ..”Going twice” oh do feck off I thought. “Sold to the guy at Table 19” … **** I don't want to spend £1800 to go to Marbella. I hated Marbella.

Long and the short of it was I had to stand up quick, tell them I bottled it and then….everyone booed me, including my schoolboy football heroes. Ultimate fail. Serves me right, showing off again.

You deserved worse than a booo, bad bad man!!!
