I'm hoping to find someone who has the Zumo 220, or has seen one mounted to a bike in the flesh.
Does the Garmin Zumo 220 come with a powered motorcycle cradle that charges the Sat Nav just by clicking into the cradle, the same as the 660 does? Or is it a separate cable that needs plugged into the side? Does the 220 have a RAM mount that bolts to the clutch lever bracket, for bikes with clip-ons? Garmin's website is very unhelpful in these areas. Thanks |

I had the 400? and it needed a power supply to the mount.
The supply is fused and I connected it direct to the battery and ran the cable down the chassis under the tank coming out at the front, secured by cable ties. I did not use the mount supplied but bought one from Telforizer which utilised the front securing mount/bolt of the tank, which was about £15.keeping the other controls completely unobstructed When fitted the cable and fittings were unobtrusive and the GPS could be adjusted for ideal vision or moved slightly for direct sunlight P.S. I sold it to EssexDave for his SV and he still has the Triumph mount as it does not fit on an SV. sorry but I do not know if it[220] comes with a powered cradle, but you could still run the power supply in a similar manner and just pop the plug off.Leave a little loop at the mount secured by a small cable tie allowing freedom of movement. Thanks v much for the replies guys, but I went to see a Zumo 220 in Currys today, and had a play with the software. It doesn't do postcode search, which IMO renders it completely useless.
Spend 400+ quid on a Zumo 660, back to the drawing board with the TomTom rider. |
