try not to brake to sharply on the front brake, my missus is only about 8 stone wet through and she still ends up sliding off the pillion seat and into me. she doesnt hold behind tho as we have those "Love Handles" pillion grab handles i wear.

oh and remember, if you duck to avoid a pigeon, seagull etc, remember she hasnt seen it and it will hit her in the face haha.

should be alrite tho mate, mine was a bit worried at first but just take it steady and ease her into it

I took my mrs out for the first time last week. I said to her, If you want me to slow down just tap me on the leg.

At 120 mph she was holding on too tight to tap my leg and I had ear plugs in so couldn't hear her screaming.

She didn't talk to me for 2 days.

My Mrs is a little (ahem) over 8st and the bike felt awful, didn't enjoy the ride at all. Glad she doesn't want to come on the back again.

Consider getting one of these:

http://www.triboseat.com/

They make a big difference - but until you know if the Mrs is going to ride pillion regularly then some of this will do in the meantime, just wrap it round the seat.

http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/none-meg...essory-p115672

In the event of having to stop suddenly it may save you having to extract your dangly bits from your ribcage if she slides into you (just ask Treacle and Ravingdavis how that feels when my 8 stone gets thrown forward at speed!)

Best to have some agreed signals - such as when I tap you on the leg I'm going to accelerate so hang on tight. And also something so that she can tell you if she needs you to stop or slow down.

That plan worked perfick then

tell ure Missus to lean with the bike, I've had a few new pillions on the back and 75% of the time when you tip it into the corner they will sit up and the bike will follow. makes stearing fun

I found that too. Some of the pillions i have had refuse to lean with the bike and it makes things interesting But then when i have had pillions who do lean and want to tilt the thing over then its great....puts more weight over the rear wheel too
