Well I passed my theory test two days ago (50/50
![]() I have to say though if anyone is planning to do their direct access I seriously recommend doing the CBT separately before you book it. It gives you a feel for riding without paying £500 for the full DA with CBT included. I was there with a lass who was absolutely shocking and she wasn't even allowed on the road, so would have been a total waste of cash. This was the first time on a bike for me and I loved it! I was seriously daunting going out on the road, you don't realise how venerable you are until you are next to a lorry or bus. Didn't get up much past 50 mph as it was a 125 but bloody hell did 50 feel fast haha. I kept leaving my indicators on to start but stopped after about the 100th telling off, I also dumped the clutch at a box junction and almost wheelied through it haha! Scary but i'm buzzing about doing my DA now, which I will book once I have the feeling back in my arms. Just been to Hein Gerike to look at helmets and ended up spenting a fortune on gear, got myself: ![]() Arai Axces helmet ![]() Alpinestars GP Jacket ![]() Alpinestars SMX-5 Boots ![]() Alpinestars SP-2 Gloves Im looking for some Kelvar jeans if anyone has any recommendations? Well done on passing the theory and CBT. Just 2 more bits and you're all good. They're on bigger bikes though so careful with the weight and the extra speed. May take some getting used to from a 125. It certainly did me. You'll soon pick things up, just remember that you're "invisible" don't expect everyone to see you/know you're there.
Looks like you got some good gear. As for kevlar jeans, the Draggin Jeans are pretty good, I've got a pair myself and they're great, most expensive pair of jeans I've bought but still good stuff. Good luck with the rest of your DA |

well done on the CBT.
Ride safe. As for gear - you'd be as well to get leather trousers that zip on to that jacket. AND draggin jeans. You'll regret not buying the leather trousers when you cant find the ones that zip to the jacket by the end of the season and you want to do a track day. |

Congrats on Theory and CBT passes. I remember having the same problem with forgetting the indicators on mine. Finally got used to it (a Chinese 125 of some description), then went on a CB500 for a proper lesson and couldn't work out how to turn them off because they were different. Felt such a wally.
