Soooo. I suppose first, proposed dates. Then proposed Routes.
Sooo, date, im not sure, not too bothered, almost anything will do me except first two weeks of august, but then its AR then anyway so its same for all of you ![]() My proposed route as I already said is Cutgate; which is Langsett Res to Derwent water, or the very top of it, a place called slippery stones. |

Get a saturday off!
What's the point of mountainbiking if you can't get hammered afterwards to dull the pain?

So then, week ends that we could do it;
2-3 9-10 16-17 23-24 Just say which one(s) you can make and we'll figure it out. Suppose a vote would be good but not sure if we can add one now without a new thread? |

Would it not make more sense to set in stone a location first? THen those that can get to said location will be able to discuss the dates they're available for it.

Sooo who is happy with Cutgate? Here is a map; There are a couple of long climbs on the way up which are not particularly steep but are testing (certainly for me on my Scott). Once to the top its fairly level for a way and is pretty easy riding and fun finding your way along as there are several paths you can take at every point. At the other side it is fairly steady downhill going into pretty steep downhill. If you take your time none of it is particularly hard. On the way back it starts out steep and pretty difficult going, but soon levels enough to just make it a bit of a slog. Again on top nice and easy. On the return back down to the start the path is long and flowing and you can easily get silly speeds. If you take it easy it is again a good fun section that involves little effort as far as peddling. Thats the overall writeup from me ![]() Only issue could be that there is no bike rental that I know of. |

Is that a single route there and back, as opposed to the dalby loop?
How far is it Nick? Already pricing an upgrading of the GT, which in time will hopefully provide a donner kit for which ever full sus frame I pick up down the line. need to finish the DRZ off though first. |

Yes, same track there and back, though it works well as both ways offer VERY different experience. Its one of my favourite rides. What I really like is that all the climbing is in one lump and not spread out and the downhill bits last a long while. Really fun.
Distance is ~9miles. If we want more distance we could go down and do a loop of Derwent water, but tbh that would be dull in comparison. There is one other thing, anyone who feels the need can take a towel and some swimming gear and go in at slippery stones, there is a decent pool area there! |
