There is little BHP difference between the two.
The Gladius motor is a more upto date with reduced engine braking through a little extra fuel being added on the overrun.

The gladius motor has a different coating and casting process for the pistons (think Hyabusa and GSXR technology), and spins up faster.

With fitting the motor, wait till the new DL650 comes out and look how Suzuki have done it.

The Gladius does make better power top end and midrange than the SV650 with an aftermarket exhaust and then properly remapped. The one we have done for minitwins we have had to richen right up at the top end to keep it under the 72bhp limit, wheras the SV650 will just about make the limit with correct fueling.

bout 5 bhp difference. pistons, cylinders, crankshaft, throttle bodies, airbox, cams ,valve springs are different also - smoother gearbox , no pair system to mention a few.
engine will fit but you have to modify a few bits such as -coils are twin spark so are larger ,breather is in different place and no oil cooler just heat exchanger. just finished building 03 sv wiv sfv motor
