I'm hopefully buying an SV650 K6 this week. I'm looking for a faired bike, however I might buy an unfaired version and buy the fairings for it for about £300. The naked bikes sell for a few hundred quid less than the faired version so I don't mind saving the money on the bike initially, and then spending a few hundred quid on the fairings. It works out about the same. Anyway, the bike below on the left, could it be transformed into the bike on the right with just lower fairings? Ignoring the small factors like mini indicators and different cans etc.

Both those bikes are both faired, a naked one is like in my Avatar pic!

Didn't you ask this very same question on 11th Aug?

Shawthing is correct in the answer to your original post, but you're a little confused in your model descriptions.
To be clear, THIS is a naked K6 http://www.sv650.org/model_history_f...V650_Blue.jpeg And this is the half-faired SK6 http://www.sv650.org/model_history_f...650S_Blue.jpeg If you want to add lower fairings to the SK6 (as per your photos) then it's relatively straightforward - you need the lowers and the fitting kit. If you actually want to change a naked K6 to a fully faired bike (as per your text) then that's a very different proposition and a whole lot more work. EDIT : Be careful that you get the correct colour lowers or, if you're getting them sprayed, double check you have the right paint code. There are quite a few variations in colour shades over the years. Last edited by TamSV; 22-08-11 at 11:48 AM. |
