Default Christopher Down at Peaks & The AA

Just as a side note now everyone knows the situation.
Obviously Jen was a little distressed & tired after her support to Chris on Sat., but also had problems with a screw in the tyre.
Called the AA out & after a bit of discussion with their management, despite her only just having taken the policy out, they took her & the bike all the way back home to Scotland.

In my experience, this was a brilliant display of customer service, compassion and far & away above the usual or what they are contracted to do.
Top bloke Jon (85648 - patrolman Jon)
So, if you have to renew your breakdown membership, try & do it with the AA, they have helped one of our very own crew on here at a very difficult time, they deserve our support I think.

I'd absoluetly agree with this.

Call centre minions know nothing, insisting that their guy would repair the tyre and send me on my wasy - 300 miles on a temp plug I think not! The blokes on the road were fab.

Took a little persuasion, and a lot of pressure and two calls to upper management but Jon who came out to assess me (haha) and the bike was fab. He got me relayed on compassionate grounds, I was in no fit state to ride a bike 300 miles.

The recovery guys took me home in 3 stages, Mark took me from the site to Scotch Corner, Ian from there to Hamilton and Henry from Hamilton to Home. They even had a guy at my house waiting to help unload the bike.

All 4 of these guys were man enough to give me a hug when I started sobbing in their trucks, and kind enough to let me talk or not talk depending on how I felt.

I cannot sing the praises of the AA highly enough today, and I'm not sure I'd have got such a compassionate service from any other breakdown company.

Old Git - I owe you a huge thanks for talking to them for me, I was in no fit state.

SV4Me - you do really good hugs and thanks for the loan of the dry jacket for the morning.

Orose - you kept me cheerful and also do really good hugs.

That campsite needs to sort out it's tea though.. lol
