I'm looking at getting a good SLR camera for a 4 month trip to the USA summer next year!
At the moment looking at Canon 600D as I've used them before and quite like them! Budget is around £600-£700 looking for a decent camera with decent lenses. Any input / advise would be greatly appreciated ![]() Thankyou &&& Merry Christmas! |

Whatever you like the feel of. Loads will argue between Canon and Nikon, but really, they are all so good...
I'd say get this http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-...-lens/p1525134 Cos I use nikon. Pete ![]() |

I agree with BP, I like nikon, I've had a play with canon stuff but I find the menu etc is easier to use on my nikon D90.

The video is HD, the kit lens always beats the equivalent Canon one. Its the same lens I have on my D7000 and it's very sharp.

+1 for the Nikon. My family all have canons and while the lenses screw the right way round the nikons menu and button layout is way better.... IMO

+ 1 for the D7000 love it, all my lens are pin sharp on it. D5100 or D90 would be a good camera from the nikon side for the price with lens.
But the canons stuff will be just has good. Like has been said feel them and read up lots as the is a few pros and cons to each of them. Personally im a nikon man, I use a canon 7d sometimes and is a great bit of kit but not for me. |

The sensor in the D5100 is the same as the D7000. Just not as many bells and whistles to keep the price down.

I love my Nikon, albeit having got the entry level one (D70 I think) I didn't realise till after that it doesn't take video.
