Default invoice?

As most know a tank i had sent was damaged in transit.
Have sent all the details but they want an invoice.
Obviously i dont have one as this was arranged via the org. with a gentlemans agreement,
So how do i show proof of sale and price?
cheers for all advice

Word document, details of tank, purchase price, date of purchase, purchaser, method of payment- if they paid via PayPal print that out and send it too.

When I sold my last car I just googled "bill of sale" if I remember. I then printed one off and filled it out and both me and the buyer kept a copy. It will be the same with invoices I reckon.

an invoice is a business document for the purpose of billing a client it is not a receipt. you as an individual do not have such a thing as it was a private sale. a sale of goods (can be hand written) receipt is all you need. as said if the other party paid by paypal then that will be good enough as it shows the transaction of payment.

then a statement from your bank showing the transaction will suffice. you can ask the bank to just print on their letter headed paper, your name + the transaction and nothing more. i think they are wanting proof for their records so as to make a payment. this is to stop the staff of the company just handing out 'bogus' payments to their mates.
