Other V-Twins?

Hi all, I need to get myself another V-twin. I've currently got a K9S 650 that I really cant live without. Love the ride, handling, body posistioning and power OK only 81bhp. My second bike is currently a ZK4 Bandit 600. Trouble is now I'm loving the V-Twin I want to go for another. Had a K5N 650 but just didnt gel with it. So sold it a few months back and want something else with a V lump but with a bigger engine.

Choice that I know of are Tuono, SV1000 or Ducati. Can anyone let me know what these are like to live with on a day to day use. And are there anyother V's that I should look at.

Are they as much or more fun than than my K9?

my dad has had aprillia's since the 2000 plate mille, it was the most comfy bike ever he said and real smooth to, sounds amazing also and now obviously they had the mille R and rsv4 which is gorgeous all of these are twins

Aprillia RSV Mille, Aprillia also do the Falco as well, also Moto Guzzi are V Twins, its just mounted in the chassis across the frame, rather than inline with the chassis like the SV is.

Depends, for cost per mile its hard to beat the SV IMHO in terms of fun.

Ducati's can take alot of TLC and can be finicky, if you can put up with its foibles ( or character ) then its very very rewarding to ride, but based on the experience of the 749S that I've ridden, it can be a pig to ride around town and its not something you can pootle about on.

I too am looking for another V-twin for the future at some point to complement my daytona and sv. My choices are, in no particular order, Aprillia rsv 1000 mille, Aprillia Tuono v2, Buell ( Lightning), or... the mighty Honda SP1 or SP2 ( i REALLY want an SP2 as theyre godlike!)

Stick Honda Firestorm on your list as well.

Bit long in the tooth maybe now but cheap as chips and my 36,000 mile firestorm was a hoot and reliable until I spanked it up. Just add noisy cans and you have all the character you want.

1000 twins are a completely different league. Big boom boom torque and all the associated japery. Wheelies! .....Highsides!

Firestorm, SP1 and SP" are all Honda VTR's, they do look epic, especially the SP2. I quite like the firestorm tho. I have ridden an RSV was a few years ago now, was very comfy from what I remember.

Sorry should have said I dont want two sports bikes. One naked one sports. Thats why I'm happy with the SK9. Just a commuter/fun bike when not using the SV.

Firestorm then, or a naked SV thou?

Isn't the Buell naked?

Don't forget team orange... Ktm superduke or SM sir?
