Anybody want to recommend brand and shop?
Got noo calipers so thought might as well go the whole hog. Never ran steel lines before. I understand not as much lever travel? So mibee feels a bit sharper? Cheers. |

I use HEL lines. Can't fault them to be honest!!
Got them from NI Bike bits, say your a member of Gixer Junkies and you'll get a decent discount too. I got a full set of front and rear lines for £58 delivered ![]() Site

braided most likely better than 10 year old standard fitment, but they do have there problems and aint indestructible,if not routed and secured well they will chafe, and the best ones to buy are the plastic coated ones that have crimped end,(screw on ends where all but banished in most industries,as they fail under pressure)but in all honestly on a road bike there is no noticeable differance, and ive taken some badly made and routed ones off my bikes and replaced with original brake pipes as these worked and fitted properly

Hel and Goodridge both work for me, HEL on the SV, Goodridge on the gixer.

i use venhill build a lines and they are screw on type fittings. never ever had a problem and they go on much better than swaged ones as i can put the lines fittings where i want so route properly i also get to choose what lengths i want and not ones made by monkeys who think that adding a little wont matter. the ammount of braded lines i have come across that are way to long is ridiculous.
i was put off with HELLish years ago as they were never right and had to keep sending them back to be sorted. Venhill every time, yes you have to use your noggin and work out what angle of fittings and lengths you need but its not rocket science. |

if you're not worried about a brand name and want value for money; both busters accessories and M&P used to do their own lines (unbranded goodridge) coated in any colour and with a choice of cadmium/ chrome or stainless fittings and to any length you like, you'd have to check whether that's still the case.
Cheers Mark.

I like the look and price of the cobra performance braided lines on ebay. Saving up to get some as my lines are well overdue for replacement

I'd have to second NI bike bits. Very good service and price for HEL lines. They will also make the lines with different angled banjos or longer lines for no increase in price.
