Default Restriction: Is just the washers enough?

My 2005 sv650 is restricted to 33bhp by washer in intake and throttle restrictor, if the throttle restrictor where taken out it surely would still be legal to 33bhp? So would it still be legal if the throttle restrictor is off and would they be ale to tell?

The washers restrict the flow of fuel/air into the engine. what makes you think simply limiting the amount the throttle opens is what limits it to 33bhp.

Leave them there until you are allowed to remove them. Or take a full test.

No, it will inject full fuel and run even worse.

Ditch the FI kit and get an ECU.

But doesnt that require getting an certificate to get it fitted as it says on the certificate how it restricted or will they not care aslong as it restricted? Also would it make it faster?

Makes it run better not necessarily faster.

I wouldn't worry about the cert it isn't a legal requirement, just check with your insurers that they're ok without that.

You would be quite alright to ask them if you word it "the currently fitted restrictor kit is making it run like crap, I want to fit the OEM's restriction method instead would this be a problem"

The majority of insurers would be fine with this just some might be idiots about it,.

My k3 is restricted via a ecu that I installed without any certificate and not been asked for one by the insurance company either
