Default Rough idle with new exhaust - Pointy.

I have a K5 2006 reg Sv650s so is fuel injection, today after fitting a new delkevic 200mm stubby exhaust I have noticed that the idle is now rougher (between 1400 and 1300) it used to be completely steady. It is also popping a bit more and is slightly harder to start. Could just be me being paranoid or they may be related. Any help would be great. Thanks very much.

Tricky one

Maybe your throttle bodies need balancing, which you didn't notice before fitting the new exhaust.

Popping might indicate that its not sealed properly on the link pipe?

Fitting an end can shouldn't affect anything like starting

There may be other more authoritative replies later by Pointy owners or those who know more about injection engine than me

If the sealing doesnt cure your issues then it will be fueling. A 200mm can is considerably shorter than stock and can affect the fueling, generally by making the bike run rich. No two bikes will be affected the same and to the same degree either.

Id suggest a dyno run if it continues looking mainly at low speed/rpm fueling. Someone who knows what they are doing with a Yoshi box and an air fuel sensor on a dyno would be able to adjust the low speed. If you get stuck drop me a PM.

Brilliant thanks just confirmed my thoughts, I'm sealing the links today and if that doesn't work I'm in contact with a bike garage for a dyno test. Thanks

No.If the problem started after you changed the can then that is almost certainly where the problem is.
