Default Fitting alternative speedo/tacho?

hi Guys.
I know nothing about wiring new Speedometers and stuff and was just wondering how easy this would be to wire in, would it be a simple swap for the standard unit?

LINKY

Reason im asking is because i've just been offered one from a friend...

If you disconnect the speedo unit from a 2nd gen SV650, the bike won't run, so I'm doubting these would be a straight swap. There must be some electronics in that unit the bike needs.

Got a circuit diagram?
May only need a warning light to turn on a circuit ?
Or a imobaliser dongle like a gen 2 RSV like I have.

question is! why would you want to?

more trouble that they are worth better sticking to what suzuki put on the bike. i can see the point if you have smashed up the original as it's cheaper but that's about it.

if you want to know all about them then head on over to svrider as they love doing stuff like this. personally i don't see the need plus the more hacking of the loom the more trouble your going to get.

my tuppence worth
