Pointy - Buyers guide? - SV650.org

Hi All
thinking of returning to SV ownership and will go for a pointy this time. Never had a pointy before. Any known faults to look out for?

I've had one for a couple of years and its been faultless, but you need some full time mechs to really answer the question such as YC or SS etc. I don't know of any generic faults apart from Suzuki low price paint and bolt finish.
It probably is down more to age and care and maintenance (or lack of) it's had rather than the type of bike in any case. The benefit is the pointy can be a lot newer than an ancient curvey.

Thanks. All the curvys I've had have had rattly cam chanis due to dodgy CCTs, so hopefully I'll say good bye to that problem with a K3 onwards. I thought the Fi ones were okay but thought i'd check in case someone know of some problem unique to the pointy. Seems to be some bargains about at present too.
