Saw a prog on tele last week (think it was 24hrs in A&E) where doctors gave a biker who'd been in a serious accident ketamine whilst they reset a badly broken arm.
The guy was out of his tree but still felt them doing the yanking, just couldn't remember it when he became lucid again. |

I'm taking it as this is a case of those who did it to the extreme (eg 15g a day) as opposed to the weekend couple of gram between mates.
I did it for long enough on those grounds and not one of us suffered major health concerns. Next ill be reading crack causes your teeth to fall out or coke causes your nose to melt away. Regulated use will not cause those issues, only abusing it will do and imo if you abuse drugs regardless of the well publicised side effects of doing so then you get what you deserve. |

The answer is legalise drugs, make it so that they are available just like other revolting addictive substances like alcohol and nicotine and let those silly enough to use them get on with it. Forget the nanny state and let people make their own choices.
Remember though, there are consequences to all of these drugs and they can be serious. Informed consent is a great tool. People smoke knowing that it could kill them. Give them the same choice with drugs. Recently I was told by a man who will shovel vast amounts of street bought cocaine up his snot box that my taking anti depressants was bad. His reasoning caused me to laugh because he totally missed the irony of what he was saying. "Anti depressants are bad because" and I am quoting here, "you don't know what they put in them!" In his view what ever it is in my meds, it is far less safe than the drain cleaner, ground up dog worming tablets and talc found in the cocaine he buys that is "really expensive because it is quite pure!" Meanwhile, my clinically produced and monitored helpful medication could contain anything... I am not sure I will ever understand drug abusers. ![]() |
