Default Pointy and Curvy - sound the same?

I'm in a bit of a dilemma, I want an SV, but im stuck on funds around the £1,000 mark, i'd love a pointy as i've ridden one before and I love the sound. My budget will probably about cover a curvy model.

Do they sound the same? I don't want to lose that sound on the pointy, is there any difference in sound? Also, is the head/front fairing/speedo transferable from the K3+ to the K1 & K2? All advice and suggestions welcome!

Thanks guys!

Default Be patient or go for it!?

Hi mate,

Can't comment on most of the stuff but I would say, if you have your heart set on a pointy be patient and wait.

Don't compromise on it as a bike is so much more to a person than a car, if you want a pointy and get a curvy you didn't really want you might not enjoy it as much.

Just my opinion.

Whatever you decide I hope you enjoy it and remember keep it shiny side up!

Both will sound the same, its the same engine

No can't transfer the pointy parts without a lot of hassle, the frames are different, which means the mounting points are different.

You'll get plenty of choice in Curvies for your budget

Personally I prefer curvies (not that I'm biased or anything ), but as said above, may make more sense in the long run to save a bit more and get the bike you really want.

First bike?Experienced rider or new to it?
If you are new to it Id buy a cheap old curvy and ride it for a year or so until I had made all the mistakes I was going to and maybe dropped it a couple of times. It wont matter too much on an old bike thats probably got a few scratches anyway, but it will really irk you to damage a shiny nice one. They all sound the same and ride much the same too, depending on what suspension mods and end cans you put on.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'm relatively new, i've been riding for a year but only smaller bikes, this will be my first owned big bike! (Lucky enough to learn the lesson of showing off on a smaller bike) think I will see how much disposable income I have this month and have a look to see!

a couple hundred more and you'll pick up a K3 or maybe a k4 it'll not be immaculate, but have plenty of life/miles left in it. Plus pointys look better.
