So I quite soon want to use some sort of herbicide on my lawn to completely kill it off.
Problem is my front and back garden are so uneven to the point its almost dangerous, esp when the kids are careering round and falling over etc. Plan is to kill it all off get a couple of tonnes of top soil, level out then either re-seed or re-turf. The main question is what can I use that will kill everything including the grass. I have googled it but most of what comes up is America so most of it isn't available in the UK and all the UK sites just bring up weed killer that does not kill lawns. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. |

Heavy black plastic sheeting and leave it

Rotovate, level it and turf over the top, no need to kill the old lawn off..

My other safe suggestion is the rotivator.
The stupid and very silly one is One Shot drain killer.

just dump the top soil over the top - putting anything nasty down may just affect the growth of any new lawn over the top.

Disc cleaner has done a pretty good job of killing peoples lawns in the past. Though it may only work when you don't want it too.

Grass isn't hard to kill.
standard weedkillers will do the job and they disperse in the soil so they won't harm anything that goes down later. I'd still cut it all down to as short as possible first though. |
