winter
its that time again only this year im gona have to ride my sv through winter
 I know it has carb icing problems only i've never needed to worry before. I've read about using additives but can you recomend one and where do you get it from? cheers for any help

Well my SV suffers from the most god-awful carb-icing (particularly last night when engine power felt as though it was down to about 40bhp). If anyone has a simple and sensible solution I would be interested to hear it.

Check your wiring for the carb heaters, I reckon, they're just push-on sockets and come off very very easily... And possibly search for the people who've moved their carb heater thermostats to colder locations to gt them to work right...

 he heSeriously though, on my old xj600 (ahem) I tried putting some redex stuff in the fuel (I can't remember the exact product - sorry) but that seemed to do the trick. Just kept a bottle under the seat and put some in on really cold days

A-ha! carb icing! mine suffers from this, I use Silkolene Pro FST when the weather is cold and damp. Makes a big difference.

I would use Silkolene Pro FST as well, used it last year in my ER 5. I've got some in my SV just now as well.

Would a hot water bottle fed off the radiator work? :P
I was up in Dundee this morning (saturday) and it was blowing a bit cool around the trossachs
