Default Ride Magazine and Chain

In my latest copy of Ride Magazine there is a couple of pages of money saving tips and general hints.

It suggests that dealers are just trying to make more profit and it is ok to renew a chain without renewing sprockets! is this good advice?

I ask because I neglected my chain in the early days of novelty! riding rather than polishing and it does seem to be rather noisy now.

Yes you can just change the chain.

However,

Always check the top sprocket, as this will show more wear than the rear.

It's good practice to change both sprockets & chain at the same time.

Cheers Mark.

Its not like sprockets are expensive anyway, by the way that chains wear (and the time u have in between times when u have to change them) you can save the amount for some new sprockets.
