Default Crash bungs

Just bought a fully faired K1 and need to get some crash bungs for it before I drop it (again).

What are the best one's to get

Are there any that you can fit without cutting the lower fairing panels

Just how well do crash bungs actually work?

I haven't got a set because to be honest I hate the look of them, but if they are effective in the event of the worst happenning then maybe I should just get some anyway...

Opinions?

Stu

JHS are the best ones, not the prettiest it's true, but they work, and if pretty was your major concern you wouldn't fit them anyway.

I found the Suzuki crash bungs to be quiet good, not that they have been used if you know what I mean and wish to continue not using em.. Plus I think they look better having the bungs on the fairing than the grey big oversized washers..

I had a minor lowside a couple of weeks ago with JHS bungs on.

I also have a high level can which meant this was fine.

The damage was a broken gear lever and a smashed after market screen (I suspect shattered cos it was feckin cold!)

There is tiny scratching on the r/h pillion peg.

That's it.

They look cack but I have not shelled out wads for a minor off so success in my book.

I've been biking a while and carry on through winter so minor offs in my book are inevitable. Bungs are def the way to go as is a high pipe.

Live long and prosper!

We've just had this thread, it's called "Someone tell me where to go" or similiar... You'll find loads of good advice in there.

Got meself a set of R&G's in the end cos they look about the best and I knew that they definately fitting to the right plce - ie through the main engine mounting bolt.

Looking pretty good, all I've got to do now is take the dremmel tool to the fairing.

Not planning on testing them too soon though, not at 75 notes a set
