I done the mod a couple of months ago - still not sure if its made much difference, I have been taking it real easy with the crappy road conditions. Rich |

Can anyone tell me why it is so important to do the front suspension first? I have always heard that, but never a reason.

Nor do i based on my opinion that both should be done together. I don't see how you can improve the handling of the bike by improving one end and not the other. Uprate the front and it will improve but if the back is still sloshing around (technical term

But if the front is under dampened, and the rear is over, then theoretically doing opnly the front would make an improvement no? Just wondering really, not being contrary.

What you say is in some ways true - if you don't do the back as well you won't get the full benefit of improving the front. However, the back isnt anywhere near as bad as the front. Also, one of the reasons for doing the front has nothing to do with handling - it will eliminate the massive dive under braking. Another reason I'd want to do the front first is that you always want the front to grip better than the rear. I'll admit I don't know if doing the rear suspension first would compramise this, but I brought it up just incase. |
