Default leaking pipe...

one of the overflow pipes is leaking something...

I have a SVS K3

the one on the right hand side, closest to the oil cooler.. its landing on the exhaust.. and its greenish in colour.. which would leave me to think its coolant ??

Why's it leaking ?? its never done it before... I havent even put anything in it...

also hopefuly on a different subject.. there seems to be a small amount of water in with the oil... its turned into white gunk... which mists up the oil inspection window.. and sometimes onto the oil filler cap as well. I pray they are not related....

Sounds like a knackered head gasket to me - water in the oil and over-pressure in the coolant system. Classic symptoms.

Down the dealers is my advice (you are under warranty, aren't you?)

Sadly I'd have to agree. From what you describe it's certainly on the cards.

Balls... its only been on the road since august!

Do I have to take it to the dealer I bought it from ?? or can I take it to any Suzuki dealer ??

Cos I bought it in Bristol.. and I dont want to go all the way down there.. when theres Suzuki dealers in Bridgend, Swansea, and Cardiff.

What the heck do I say ???

Oi! look at my bike! its under warranty... so fix it ??

I'll probably take it somewhere after work tomorrow morning.... or on sunday.

And its only got 5000 odd miles on the clock.

Suppose its better to be safe than sorry... take it somewhere to get looked at. How would they check if it is knackered ?? I suppose they would have to strip the thing down.

No - any dealer.

I'd recommend either Bevans in Cardiff or Thunder Road in Bridgend. Both are good. Thunder Road is the larger outfit but non-the worse for that. Don't go to South Wales Superbikes in Newport.

Ring 'em first and make an appt. Explain the symptoms and that your bike is under warranty. They won't turn the work away this time of year.

Not sure that they'll have mechanics available at that time. Possible that Thunder Road might, but ring first.

I'd offer to ride over with you but I'm on call this weekend.

Test ride it and look for the symptoms. They will probably pressure-test the cooling system first and then check the oil. Leave it to them.

Jethro at Bevan's is a great mechanic, and the Thunder Road chaps are equally impressive but perhaps a little more modern on the equipment front.

I'll be going to Thunder Road for a service in the spring, mainly because I need to get me service book up to date (they did the last one but I left the book at home
