Default Silly standard exhaust question...

I noticed this evening that it has a tiny little hole below the outlet...
Anyone know why it is there?

It's a "speed hole". It adds 10 mph to the top speed

There's all sorts of crap inside the stock can, so it could be that any moisture that enters it ends up around there instead of running clear through...

Otherwise, no idea

Ahh... but the pressure of the gases will push the water towards the back end which then goes out of the tiny hole <whistle a tune to self>. Reduce condensation? It's along those lines though.

Nah have not really examined my end that well but my CG definitely had one and that is what it was for AFIK. Jeez how does the working of a simple hole become so complex.

Cheers
Ben

My Virago had a wee hole like that at the front of the collector box... I knew i had a blow in the exhaust system, and I saw that wee hole and thought I had it sussed, taped it up with exhaust bandage... Then found htere was a hole roughly the size and shape of a Richmonds Irish Recipe pork sausage, thin cut, in the downpipe
