It looks like the 450 V Twin rumoured from Aprilia is going to be a reality! Now that could be very interesting? No doubt will not be able to compete for value for money with the SV but a smaller piece of exotica but attract a lot of buyers. A suggested "look" for the bike can be found here:

Mmm... If that wee engine delivers what it should it'll be on a few christmas lists Don't see me chopping in the SV for it mind.

What do you think the service intervals will be like on a 450 twin thats putting out the same power as the SV!!!

An Italian one at that Probably same as the SV I reckon, though maybe with more work in the services...

I wonder if this is the start of the rebirth of the small mental bike? I'm sad to have missed the golden age of the crazy Jap 400cc or small-capacity stroker, all those beautiful tiny bikes... I'd love an RVF400RR, but no way am I buying a decade-old hooligan bike for those prices

Aprillia are also building a 550cc twin engine, based on their current 450 unit.
So it'll be 550/450 in a RS250 chassis, should be very good. 70BHP quoted seems a bit much tho, I reckon that's crank figures.
