Non Suzuki air filters - SV650.org

I have just fitted a new air filter, and it may be just me but do non-Suzuki air filters offer the same air transfer as official Suzuki ones?.

After taking my bike out after fitting it I thought it lacked response on the throttle - may have just been me though.....did put some carb cleaner in when I took out the air filter which made the carbs run a bit poor for the first 50yrds or so.

Not sure now whether I imagined it or it is actually choking the bike?.

What did you fit? Remember that running lean could cause the bike to run badly as well...

It's a filter made by European Filter Company - thought I'd be getting a genuine suzi one when I ordered it but didn't realise it was going to be a pattern part one.

Having said that don't even know if you can still get proper suzi ones for a 2000 sv650s anymore?.

Mine runs fine on a pattern one from Hein Gericke. Think its a Meiko, or Meikel. Begins with M anyway. I'll leave it like that until I fit something free-er flowing, as I have neither the time nor money to be messing about with jetting at the moment.
