Default motrax l.e.d.s (again)

hi guys this might be a question for mattsv, still haveing problems with these dam indicators flashing to fast ,i have even bought a resister kit 10 ohms 10watt from autobulbs direct as some one mentioned on site. but after fitting them there is no change to the indicators just wondering if i should just get a (fla**** unit) from motrax and have done with it starting to get on my bits now. any help sorry for going on but needs sorting

just a question, you have fitted the resistors in parallel with the LEDs, not in series?

Each LED unit needs a resistor in parallel with it (so you'll need 4 of the 10 Ohm ones) in order to load the flasher unit enough to get the correct flash rate.

If you've done this, then I'm stumped.

Just to mention im having nothing but trouble with my motrax led indicators as well i soldered 4 resistors in one on each indi in parallel which slowed the flash rate but now only three leds in each light up properly while the bike is off and when running they all light up but flicker a bit while flashing and also no where near as bright as should be.

I have ordered the 2 pin flasher relay off here:

http://www.fastbikebits.com/acatalog...ndicators.html

going to solder that in inplace and of the old flasher relay under the seat and take the resitors out to see if that fixes it.

Kinda makes me wish i never went with L.E.D's would have been alot less hassle with bulbs.

I wired in 10 ohm 10 watt resistors IN PARALLEL to my LEDs and have had no problems at all - maybe I am just lucky

i bought a set of motrax LED indis' which i fitted and they flashed too fast, i phoned motrax and they sent me some more resistors, plugged them in and hey presto they flashed fine, all LED's working.
so what im trying to get at is give motrax a call and see what they say. it worked for me.

mattsv when you mean parallel do you mean black wire to black wire and yellow to yellow ,or black to yellow, black to yellow.
at the mo they are wired black, black yellow, yellow

In parallel means that they go ACROSS the two wires, not in line with them.

You need to wire in one resistor to each indicator, between the black and the yellow wires.

Just finished fitting an ermax undertray with bulit in led indicators. Tried out the 10w 10ohm resistors first and they do work, but they run very hot. Watch out if you're likely to use the indicators a lot (commuting) or leave them on at a long set of lights.

RS components do a 20w 6.8ohm aluminium resistor that does the job and only gets warm, or could use 2 Maplin 10w 15Ohm resistors in parallel.

As others have said, make sure the resistor is in parallel to the LED.

I wired mine up with 6ohm 10watt ones as all i could get at the time have a load of 10ohm ones now i could not believe how hot they get as well had me concerned was gonna set the wiring alight if on too long.lol

im hopefully going to try wiring mine up with the new relay see if that does it at weekend.

Hope you get yours sorted Stumpy1
