Hi all, my first post as a very happy sv owner. what a great bike!
![]() i picked up a 1999 at the weekend with 6000 miles on the clock and absoloutely love it. Already getting the bug to buy upgrades! ![]() just a couple of questions though that someone may be able to help me with: 1. i have no doubts about the bike or credibility of the dealer but the previous owner did not provide the service book or original suzuki manual that i assume should have come with it. are these available to buy from anywhere? 2. I looked under the passenger seat last night and was expecting a toolkit but there wasn't! I guess i should have checked this out first but assumed it would be in there! can anyone advise me as to what should be in there so that i can make one up? thanks in advance |

Welcome svsteve. An owners manual, service book, and toolkit should have all come with the bike. However, the owner maybe one of the bad people, and has lost it. Let me know where he/she lives and i'll makes sure that they dont get any presents this year. An owners manual should be availible form Suzuki, as well as the tool kit and service book. I would assume that without the service book, or proof of mileage that the 6000 miles may be false. |

i was concerned about the mileage too, but the bike was part exed to a honda main dealer - apparently voted no1 honda dealer through mcn. surely i can buy with confidence? or am i showing incredible naivity?! ![]() are digital tacho's easy to "adjust"? |

The tools in the standard kit are crap, don't waste your money on them, buy some reasonable quality stuff and stick it under the seat, the one standard item that you will need is the spark plug spanner, it's articulated and by far the easiest tool to squeeze behind the rad, even if it is made by Cadburys.
Suggest: 10, 12, 14 & 17mm spanners Crosshead screwdriver No 2 Hex keys 4, 5 & 6mm Pliers RAC membership card Anything worth having that's big enough to undo the rear spindle probably won't go under the seat, so I wouldn't bother with it for your carry around tools, though perhaps you could find room for a suitable adjustable of good quality, ie something with jaws that are something like parallel.
